Adware and Trojans plague the Education sector

Educational institutions was a top sector to be compromised by adware and trojans last year and has continued to this trend into 2019. Experts believe that this sector is often targeted with malware because it is challenging to defend due to the large number of outside devices connecting as guests on school network. One Trojan in particular named Trikbot tries to grab information by downloading components to perform specific malicious tasks, such as keylogging and moving laterally within a network.
